Preparing to upload (Blender 2.5X)
Before uploading, make sure you agree with our output licensing policy.
This page describes how to prepare your .blend files for uploading to Renderfarm.fi. Alternatively you can also use the Renderfarm.fi Uploader.

1. Check: Dimensions
Make sure that you have the correct resolution selected and that your resolution percentage is set to the correct value. Usually you will want to use 100%.
Also make sure that you have remembered to specify the starting and ending frames!
2. Check: Parts
You can split every frame into multiple parts. This is done by specifying multipart rendering on the upload website or uploader script page inside the Renderfarm.fi distribution of Blender. If you do that, each part will be sent out to the clients as a separate work unit. When all parts of a frame have been rendered, they will be joined automatically into a frame. For this to work the numbers inside Blender are ignored (blue marker), so no need to set them.
Note that if you use filter type composite nodes (blur, glow, etc) or subsurface scattering, then you must set parts to 1. Otherwise they won't work correctly and you'll get nasty artefacts to your frames.
3. Check: Output file type
Only PNG is supported. Do NOT use AVI!
Renderfarm.fi supports RGBA. If you wish to receive alpha channel to your frames, then make sure RGBA is selected!
4. Fixed Threads
Check that the Threads-box is set to Fixed, 1 (green marker). This setting can interfere with the BOINC client, causing problems on multiprocessor machines.
5. Memory optimization
It's currently not possible to use Save Buffers with Renderfarm.fi. Make sure that it is deselected.
6. Pack external textures
If you're using external textures in your blendfile, make sure to pack them in to the .blend! If you do not, the textures cannot be delivered to the render clients and thus cannot be rendered succesfully.
You can pack all external data in the Blender file-menu (Left picture). If you have other .blend files linked to your master file, then you need to "append" them using the menu found under L-key in Object Mode. Note that if you have particle simulations, then you must bake them by doing the bake in the particle system menu. Renderfarm.fi does not currently support fluid simulations!
That's it! Remember to save your changes and then get uploading.
