Joining project from BOINC & Login Issues
Hello,
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, installed the BOINC client and followed the instructions on the "Volunteer" page to the letter. However, every time I input my email and password, I get an error saying that the login failed as the details are incorrect. I have tried every password that I've ever set up with my account, and no-go.
I have checked my firewall and it's letting everything through as it should. Can anyone help me resolve this?
Many thanks,
Andy Curry

I would suggest resetting your password and perhaps account name, then trying again. You can do this from your account page. There have been some cases reported where this simple solution has worked.
it still doesn't work
I already resetted my password but that did not help either...
My World Community Grid Account is working fine so it must be something with renderfarm.fi...
...this has taken far more than 5 minutes now... :-)
If it's of any help: I using the 6.10.58 binary for 64bit linux from the berkely site.
My email address has an underscore in it... could that be a reason ?
Ditto.
Do I have to wait for a database to be updated? I'll try again tomorrow.
Still nothing.
Edited to say. I'm running 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.
I have tried both complex alphanumeric passwords with special characters and one that is JUST lower case alphabetic.
My username has a space in it, I've tried an underscore. I've not tried running the two words together.
My email address is a Gmail address. I use periods in the username portion, but have tried other forms of whitespace from the client.
I got in.
An older thread mentioned using a command line. I managed with that.
The command is
boinccmd --project_attach http://www.renderfarm.fi <key>
where <key> is your account key, (presumably the weak account key won't work, I didn't try).
The command either needs to be executed from the directory where BOINC is installed, or you're going to have to worry about the path.
In my case the path is
C:\Program Files (x86)\BOINC>
Thanks for finding the article Sean.
Also works for me. Thanks Sean!
This information needs a permanent home!
I made this sticky. Thanks for your effort guys.
