Sessions that are not broken to parts!
Hi.
I'm just a renderer and trying to contribute since 2008 i think. For the love of my Slow computer do NOT!!! submit render sessions that are Not broken to parts.
I'm thinking it is ruling about 60-90% of the client base out of picture. Not because of low memory, but cause the dead line! My poor old core2 duo 3Ghz 4Gb ddr2 1066Mhz cannot render ONE frame per day, and yet it is getting these frames to render. Now i'm forced to shut down the client cause session 575, I don't keep my computer on 24/7 anymore. I don't want to render these sessions cos i know it won't finish in time!.
SO!
Brake them in parts!
JoneK
As its several month since the last comment were made, i just wanna bump the thread and say that im still getting sessions that take up to 13 hours/task on a core2quad@2.75 GHz. This seems unsuitable for people who do not want to have their machine on 24/7
Having same problem with current ses. 1462. No way I can finish these, at least by the progress bar. Could you at least give these larger WU a longer deadline? I don't like canceling WU's and creating unnessesary trafic.
I cancelled this session. I took a small risk accepting this and was thinking that I might have to nuke this. This session was a bit on the border zone, so I gave it a try. Hopefully we can get that threading operational soon.

Hey JoneK,
First, thanks for supporting the project !
We're completely aware about the heavy session that:
-first cause the poor users to feel concern while shutting down their machines
-generate extra-traffic
-stuck the pile of waiting session as we wanted to finish this session first
We had serious talk today, Tuesday 07/09/10, to decide the best for our users and avoid this kind of mistake again. As a matter of fact, I can't tell you how much we're working hard to get the most integrated and automatized system. We're anyway aiming to have more control about what to send and NOT to send. This session 575 is really nice, but definitely not worth 1 part per frame.
We do appreciate your feedback; be sure that those comments enter directly into the pool of problems that we're trying to solve the best and the quickest we can.
