credits issue for 64bit
it seems there is a issue when 2 windows 64 bit and a linux 64 bit ; or 2 linux 64 and 1 widows 64, machines get the same unit, the linux one in first case and the windows one in the second case do not get credit. is this true? and why is it ?

May this is a failure of my rig, but there are too many at ORE(Renderfarm.fi). At Quantumfire@home there were no validation problems.
Look at http://www.renderfarm.fi/results.php?hostid=1323
All WUs are marked as invalid. It was after the mess with uploading the files cause of the disabled upload server.
It would be fine if one would look into this
Thx in advance

PS The rig runs under win 7 64 bit.
PSS Meanwhile are 6 of 7 WUs credit granted.
I thought Janus (@burp) had fixed the credit issue with conflicting OS's. But I can't find a thread stating so (@burp). I remember he was manually granting credit after the session had ended, but thought it was fixed last year. I'm sure he has some knowledge about it.
I had noticed this issue on session 244 (http://www.renderfarm.fi/session.php?id=244), but haven't checked other sessions.
Is that the reason there are so many old results here are ORE? Do they manually have to be checked for credit issues?
Guys we'll try to get these issues solved asap. I'm afraid it could take a couple of weeks as we're getting ready to head off for some well-deserved vacation time starting from next week. We'll aim to accept sessions as often as possible (Gekko's off for next week, so next week is pretty much taken).
Actually, a bit beside the matter it looks like we'll actually have a helluva dev weekend at Assembly 2010 in Helsinki (5th to 8th of August), as jbk himself looks to be joining us in Finland. I promise you we'll look into these problems by latest at that point.
I'll be leaving on Thursday the 22nd, so get your work queued before that and it'll be rendering when I'm gone.
EDIT: Oh, right. On topic: We'll have to ask jbk about this.
It's quiet anoying, if for long wus (estimating tun times are above 7h on a quad core @ 2.5GHz) no credit points are granted because of different architectures/OSes. Eg http://www.renderfarm.fi/workunit.php?wuid=200770 was a (short) wu with XP64, Vista64 and Vista32. Both 64bit wus got credits whereas my Vista32 didn't.
Proposal: If you can't solve granting credits for different architectures (32 vs 64 bit) please submit all copies of a wu to the same architecture - make 32bit and 64bit wus. Granting credits on the same architecture seems to work even between different OSes (see above: XP64 vs Vista64).
Hi Reklov. Thanks for the proposal. We were actually discussing this kind of a feature also for other uses (for admins to enable if the scene uses alot of floats - something which might give different results under different architectures). I don't know how much work that would be from BURP's part, but we'll take this one under discussion in Assembly also.

Indeed, this is a good idea. As far as I know some other projects use this and I think it's called "Homogenous Redundancy". Especially @ Milkyway they used it some time ago.
Unfortunately such a routine takes server time. At Milkyway they replaced it with something else, because it stressed the server too much.
But I guess the server load here is not so high like on Milkyway, so it should work.
just give AVG() of all claimed kredits...
It's hardly acceptable that to this silly old bug no credits are granted to some users only whereas others get them. Today I have already 2 wu's with running time of 10h each which haven't go credits. Maybe I ought to leave until this issue is fixed after finishing my active 4 high priority tasks?
Update: now 6 wu's from yesterday with 0 credits, one further pending. Thus at least 60h cpu time spent for nothing :(

The validate state on both WU's talked about seems to say "invalid". This must be the reason why they didn't get credit. Still it seems strange that the result would deviate so much from the other machines that it wouldn't get accepted. That is, unless something is not working right.
We'll have to look into this. If you (or anybody else) notice any more of these, please post them in to this thread. Thanks!
