Grass Particles Behaving Strange

I'm looking for suggestions as to why the grass particles in this session keep moving (supposed to be inanimate).  When I do a playblast on my machine the grass doesn't animate like that.

I'm trying to avoid stripping down the scene, posting test sessions and adding everything back in until I find the problem but I may have to try that if no one else has a good idea as to what is going on.

Thanks, Nate

 That's a tough one. May I

That's a tough one.  What usually helps (well in my case) was a combination of optimizing the mesh and -completely- re-establishing the particle-system. After that... it -might- work. At least in my case it always did. Tough I can't tell you -why- this is the case.

I would suggest cleaning up topology (if necessary) and re-establish the particles... and then try a test-render... 150-200 frames?

Child simplification!

You're using the BBB production files. Make sure that you have "child simplification" turned off for ALL particle systems!

That's the biggest problem I've faced using BBB. When you turn it off, you might have to turn down the child amount for rendering, because your memory consumption will blow through the roof.

But at this time the child simplification doesn't work at all - at least I haven't found any combination of values that would work, if it's "on" the strands will flicker.
