There was a lot of discussion about this on the BURP site, but is a Mac client in the plan? I have a few 8-core macs that are not churning for ORE. Based on the discussion at BURP I think that I am not alone. I know that there are a lot of blender users running macs.
~I hope to look forward to a mac client, Istvan.

I agree with you a 100%. We definitely need to support the Mac platform in the future. However, currently I have no schedule for this development. As I've been told, however, is that it could be a relatively simple task of just building the BURP client on the Mac (if all goes well, that is), which in turn would mean that it could happen during the first months of the autumn.

It was once done by a user of BURP, but there was a parting of ways when said user disagreed with some policy discussion. As I understand it, all that really needs to take place is for someone to compile the BURP app for Mac OS. Hope I'm not over simplifying it; I've always wondered why one of the Mac-centric BOINC teams hasn't stepped up to the plate on that problem. There are a few of them out there, who have compiled their own apps for projects that don't normally support Mac clients, and optimized apps.

I don't have access to my mac right now, and won't until I get back to work in a few days. If it is really that simple, I'm sure someone with a mac out there knows how to compile.... Please?
16 - idle cores.. 90% of high-end computers sold now apparently are macs.. Why not get something out there quickly? :)

So any info how the Mac OS X client is coming about? Couldn't find much info from google. :(
"Please note that in order to succesfully join Renderfarm.fi, you need to currently have either a Windows or Linux machine. A Mac OSX client is in the making and should be available during 2009."
~from the ORE website. Is this still the plan? What changes need to be made to make it work on a Mac?
There is no Mac OSX client yet and quite likely there will not be one this year. However, there has been talk about sending one out when we get Blender 2.50. Nothing certain yet.
Hey, so any update on the status?
