Beta

Renderfarm.fi now supports Blender 2.54 Beta!

Superb news. Our build guru Gekko was faster than light and just a day after Blender 2.54 Beta comes out, we've successfully rolled out and tested the new rendering clients. You should take note that there have been some changes between 2.53 Beta and 2.54 Beta (see release notes), so please check your scene and try rendering some frames in the new version before submitting to Renderfarm.fi for rendering.

As before, you can just download the official release of Blender 2.54 and enable the Renderfarm.fi uploader add-on or you can wait for a day and get the Renderfarm.fi build of Blender 2.54 where the uploader is all ready and enabled for you. Another thing worth mentioning is that the libjpeg, libpng, libtiff, libgettext and zlib are now statically linked in the Linux builds. This was done in hopes of eliminating problems related to missing libraries on Linux clients and has actually been sent upstream as a patch to Blender (waiting for acceptance).

Renderfarm.fi goes Blender 2.53 Beta

Blender 2.53 Beta splash

Hey all - really cool news. I just received word from our resident build guru Gekko that we've succesfully rolled out the new Blender 2.53 Beta clients for BOINC for all platforms (32bit and 64bit Mac OSX, Linux and Windows).

The new builds have some bug fixes and naturally feature the latest version of the Blender render engine with all it's tweaks.

Renderfarm.fi uploader now GPL licensed: in Blender 2.53 Beta!

I also decided to take this opportunity to point out to anybody who's missed this so far: you are no longer tied to our own distribution of Blender in order to use Renderfarm.fi. You can now just download your favourite main branch Blender 2.53 Beta build and enable the Renderfarm.fi add-on in order to use the service directly from within your Blender.

Naturally this represents a huge leap for us in terms of availability, hopefully meaning many more Blenderheads can now find their way on to the service. You can read more about the script from the official Blender 2.53 Wiki. Cheers!

Google Chrome 7 beta

Ok,

So I'm using chrome's newest beta release 7.xx.x.x..x.x what ever. The main (header) does not render correctly.

It does show it self in correct order for about 1 sec and then collabses in it self. I know !!! Don't use beta and don't whine about blaa blaa blaa. But I'm using beta and this is a Problem! Last 6.x.x.x. didn't do the error.

Chromes own bug report system is teaming with the same issues on other pages. Now I'm not saying google is all knowing and all wise but. There must be a bug in the code.
