New build of Renderfarm.fi Blender released!
Submitted by prodigal_son on Thu, 2010-07-08 00:34We're super excited to announce that we've finished work on the new version of the Renderfarm.fi uploader script. This means we can now provide you guys with new builds of Blender 2.5 with the new improved script in them. The new version also fixes a nasty bug that has caused some of the recent renders fail (as witnessed by many black preview boxes in the gallery). New features include:
- Settings verification: the uploader will now help you in preparing your .blend file for a successful render on Renderfarm.fi
- Session management: you will now be able to list your own sessions, see their progress and even cancel sessions that haven't been accepted yet
- More intuitive use: You are no longer required to remember your user id, just your e-mail and password on Renderfarm.fi will suffice
- Version updates: You can easily check for new builds from within Blender

Second try for a stress test: 5 - 10th of May 2010
Submitted by prodigal_son on Wed, 2010-05-05 08:36We'll try a second pass at rendering the heavy, but extremely nice looking architectural scene. Once we manage to get this render done, we'll be looking to move into supporting the 2.5 render engine and clear up the queue. We'll also be providing new versions of the Renderfarm.fi distribution of Blender simultaneously.
PS. This should mean that we will also have a Mac version of the BURP client running for the first time officially.
Renderfarm.fi stress testing 9.-11.4.2010
Submitted by prodigal_son on Fri, 2010-04-09 15:37This weekend (9.-11. of April 2010) we're trying to run a serious stress test scene on Renderfarm.fi. If you are experiencing problems with this, please place any comments to us as soon as possible. The rendering is a test related to a commercial pilot that is a part of the ORE project.
