It takes only 5 minutes to participate!

Contributing to Renderfarm.fi couldn't be easier. You only need to complete three simple steps. We do not force you to volunteer, but should you choose to do so you'll be helping artists in rendering their animations and stills in higher quality - and you get to enjoy them too in the gallery!

We currently support all three major Operating Systems (both 32bit and 64bit): Windows, Mac OSX and Linux. It takes only five minutes to volunteer:

1. Create an account on Renderfarm.fi

Register an account for yourself on the service by pressing here.

Download BOINC

2. Download and install BOINC

First download the BOINC client. BOINC is the same software used in well-known science projects like SETI@Home. Place it wherever you want on your computer and run it. Follow the instructions given. After the installation is complete you can launch it immediately.

3. Attach your BOINC client to Renderfarm.fi

Launch BOINC and you will see different projects where you can choose which one you want to participate. Renderfarm.fi is currently in beta and isn't on the list yet. In order to join you need to enter http://www.renderfarm.fi as the project URL and use the email address and password you used when registering for Renderfarm.fi. While you're at it, why not contribute to some other BOINC projects as well?

After you have chosen the project you can see the status of the project in a new window. If you don't get work immediately, don't panic - there just might not be any at that particular moment. Congratulations, that's it!
