Renderfarm.fi @AltParty 2009: Man Meets Machine

Renderfarm.fi and with it Blender are being represented at AltParty 2009: Man Meets Machine on the weekend of 23.-26.10.2009. The event is being held for the ninth time and this year's theme is Cyberpunk. We'll be posting photos and some news about the happening during and after the weekend.

Apart from coming to meet us and many other Blender and BOINC enthusiasts out the Renderfarm.fi stand at AltParty, you can enjoy some very interesting seminars. Some of the most notable speakers this year include Sophie Wilson and Jeri Ellisworth.

Sophie Wilson created the Acorn System One in 1978 and went on to co-design the BBC Microcomputer and implement BBC BASIC. She designed the instruction set for the Acorn Risc Machine (ARM) CPU in 1983. Jeri Ellisworth on the other hand is well-known for designing the Commodore 30-in-1 Direct to TV - a C64 clone built into a joystick, capable of playing 30 famous C64 titles - and in theory expandable to a full Commodore 64 computer system.

Check out the cool Renderfarm.fi AltParty 2009 promo video made by Jerico and some other friends from #blender.fi! The farm backdrop will later be released in CC and used for Renderfarm.fi related competitions for all users of the service. Also check out the full party schedule on the AltParty website.

sounds exciting

this activity sounds exciting but it's already over so there's no way I'll be able to witness this fun event. I regret not seeing this activity. I just wished I saw your blog a little earlier so I could have joined here. Hope you'll have this again this year. I'll wait for that.
